What’s Hot? Vintage Themed Weddings
It seems that the latest wedding trend for 2011/2012 season is vintage themed weddings. I was recently a bridesmaid in such a wedding. The venue: Heritage Park’s Gasoline Museum in Calgary. This location provides the perfect backdrop for a vintage wedding. The historical village complete with an old carousel, candy store and ice-cream shop, an old saloon, and not to mention the old fashioned gas pumps and vintage cars in the museum itself! Beautiful. But you don’t need an old historical village to pull of this theme. Using mason jars for your centrepeices or creating your own seating chart from old frames could be just the answer. Today’s brides are getting very creative! Candy bars can also add that vintage flair with oversized lollips and licorice allsorts. Or perhaps old style popped corn machines or cotton candy! Bird cages are popular in place of the traditional card box, and can be completely personalized to suite the colours of the wedding. Whatever your desires, you can take this theme and really run with it. We’ve put together a list of ideas below. Feel free to make your own contributions to our ideas!
