The Lougheed House in Calgary is a beautiful Victorian Mansion, built in 1891, origninally known as Beaulieu. It boasts gorgeous gardens (Beaulieu Gardens) perfect for the outdoor ceremony as well as an elegant indoor main ballroom perfect for your intimate gathering. Great for weddings under 100 guests, this venue also has its own in house catering - The Restaurant . Or if you have another caterer in mind, they will also allow other caterers to use this space for your special day. I recommend going with their in house restaurant - the food is delicious and very fitting for the venue.

Okay I may be biased since I held my own wedding there, but it is a beautiful location! Perfect if you have out of town guests - the hotel itself has many ammenities to suite everyone's needs. Opening its doors in 1914, this venue boasts elegant charm and grandeur. The service staff are exceptional, and food is 5 star quality. Great for any size wedding, large or small, but make sure you have a big enough budget for this location if you choose to have your reception here.

The Deane House is a great location for the smaller wedding venue. Built in 1906 and said to be haunted, this location is great for that intimate-feel wedding of around 50 guests. Located right beside the Elbow River, this location has an adorable outdoor porch area for those hot summer nights.

I see this as a great location for an outdoor wedding, there are many pathways in their "central park" area that could be utilized as your isle. Recently I coordinating a gay wedding, and I think this would be a great way to have both grooms or both brides walk down the isle at the same time and meet in the middle. Very theatrical! The park itself is styled as Victorian and was landscaped in 1889.
Heritage Park
What a perfect spot for a Victorian Themed wedding. The entire park is a historical villiage with original buildings. Imagine riding in a horse-drawn carriage to your ceremony or for pictures, or riding on the steam train! Stunning. Heritage Park was actually established in 1964, however the exibits were already 70 years old at the time, and had to be relocated to the village.

City Hall
A little cliche? A 'quicky' wedding? Well I added City Hall becuase its a beautiful building.... but take a look and be the judge yourself! Yes you can have a small and very intimate affair there, but what about using it as the backdrop for your wedding pictures? Honestly, I think its stunning, and works really well if you're looking for a historical backdrop for your images.

A friend of mine had some beautiful wedding pictures taken on the steps of the McDougall Centre in Calgary's downtown area. Such classic, yet modern photos. It seems to be a popular location for many couples on their wedding day, who would like to incorporate the historical architecture and charm. This building opened in 1908 originally as a training school for teachers. It was known as Calgary Normal School.
